Al-Tahreer Association for Development (TAD) is a non –governmental organization that aims at spreading the tenets of democracy, peace, and human rights with a focus on Preventing Violent Extremism (PVE). TAD has been working in Iraq ever since 2003, starting its efforts in Nineveh and expanding to the remaining Iraqi governorates. The association has conducted many training programs, provided counselling and implemented projects that support the building of democracy and civil society and promoting a culture of peace, and maintaining the relationship between individuals and diverse communities of Iraq

Al Tahreer Association is seeking a dynamic and dedicated individuals to join our team as a Project Manager or Project Coordinator for a one year project in Nineveh Governorate. The project manager and Project Coordinator will play a crucial role in mobilizing youth and women to actively participate in project activities.

Duties & Responsibilities (Project Manager):

- Provide overall leadership and strategic direction for the project.

- Develop detailed implementation plans, budgets, and work schedules.

- Supervise the disbursement and recovery of loans, ensuring proper financial tracking and accountability.

- - Ensure that supporting activities (e.g., training, awareness sessions, community outreach) are effectively implemented.

- Establish strong relationships with local government, financial institutions, and community stakeholders.

- Monitor project indicators, track progress, and prepare a narrative.

- Lead and support the project team, providing regular guidance and capacity building.

- Ensure project compliance with donor regulations and internal policies.

- Represent the organization in external coordination meetings.

 

Duties & Responsibilities (Project Coordinator): 

- Coordinate the day-to-day implementation of project activities, including loan distributions, follow-ups, and trainings.

- Liaise with community leaders, beneficiaries, and local partners to ensure smooth execution of field activities.

- Collect and compile data on the project

- Organize and support awareness sessions, workshops, and community meetings.

- Ensure accurate documentation and filing of project records.

- Assist in preparing reports, success stories, and field updates.

- Report any challenges or risks to the Project Manager in a timely manner.

- Prepare and realise, together with the Project Manager, the presentation of the project to the community, beneficiaries and project team.
- Ensure organisation and coordination of the project team during the preparation, execution and evaluation of the planned activities according to the time-frame and their coherence with the general project time-frame.

Qualifications & Preferred Skills

Educational & Qualifications Requirements:

- At least five (5) years of experience working with NNGOs/INGOs.
- University degree in the social sciences, Project Management and/or qualifications in a relevant area or equivalent work experience.
- Ability to assess community needs and prioritise these needs through a participatory approach.
- Experience in writing project proposals, project management, project planning, implementation, monitoring, and experience with project management tools
- Familiarity with donor priorities, regulations, and funding mechanisms.
- Strong understanding of the general country situation and vulnerable populations in the community
- Must have a passion for serving people and the cause they will be working for.
- Ability to coordinate and build relationships with local - government authorities, municipalities, and public institutions.
- Experience in:Facilitating government approvals or permits related to project implementation, Participating in local coordination meetings or clusters, Ensuring alignment of programs with government strategies and local development plans, Understanding of local governance structures and political sensitivities.
- Experience in budget planning, tracking expenditures, and financial reporting in alignment with project goals.
- Knowledge of loan or microfinance projects
- Fluency in written and spoken English and Arabic is a prerequisite.
