Description
Job purpose:
The Searcher is a part of a team conducting technical survey and/or clearance of Explosive Remnants of War. The Searcher is deployed with the team in a specified area and responsible for the clearance and marking in accordance with NPA Iraq SOP.
Responsibilities:
General responsibilities:
- Work within the framework of NPA core values
- Act as an ambassador for NPA, through professionalism and conduct
- Adhere to all NPA policies, regulations and procedures
- Maintain and care for all equipment issued by NPA and for any loss or damage, you will be liable for repair or replacement
- Follow all verbal and/or written instructions, unless in direct violation of safety and duty of care
- Ensure a safe workplace and protect all staff and equipment from damage/ injury
Specific duties:
- Work in accordance with adhere to NPA Iraq SOP at all times.
- Search and clearance of ERW in dedicated area.
- Ensure that PPE, tools and equipment are clean, in working order and all items are present.
- Follow the instructions of the Team Leader, expediently, safely and without objections.
- Accept responsibility for his/her safety and act in a disciplined way at all times.
- Report all safety concerns or any damaged or missed PPE, tools or equipment immediately to the Team Leader.
- Other tasks given by the Team Leader or other Supervisor.
- If assigned as a driver in addition to his/her position as searcher, the Driver job description shall be attached and signed.
If Assigned Primary/Alternate Team Driver:
- Complete vehicle log sheets and submit to Fleet Office on the last working day of the month
- Ensure all vehicle legal documents kept on the vehicle such as registration, movement permissions, driver’s license, insurance details, etc
- Know and follow NPA Driver Vehicle SOP and Policy
- Conduct daily vehicle inspections and report any issues to Fleet Officer/Team Leader
- Complete LDR/MFA or accident reports on vehicles in any required circumstances
- Conduct weekly vehicle washing and maintenance and keep vehicle clean of rubbish daily
- Assist Fleet Officer with vehicle re-fuelling and repairs as required
Required qualifications:
Must have
- Successfully pass relevant training courses
Desirable
- Demining/BAC/Survey/NTS Course
- Drivers (manual) License
Personal Competencies:
- Verbal proficiency in Arabic
- Good interpersonal skills
- Good communication and understanding skills
- Able to work effectively under stressful situations and adapt to difficult conditions
- Willingness and ability to travel within the country
