Position Summary
The MEAL Assistant (Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning) will support Dijla Agricultural Association’s team in implementing a project that aims to strengthen farmers’ capacities through agricultural trainings, in-kind support, and the installation of agricultural tools and technologies.
The MEAL Assistant will play a vital role in monitoring project activities, collecting and analyzing data, ensuring accountability to beneficiaries, and supporting learning processes to improve project performance and impact.
Key Responsibilities

Assist in designing and implementing project monitoring and evaluation plans in line with organizational and donor requirements.

Conduct regular field visits to track progress, verify implementation, and ensure data accuracy.

Collect, clean, and compile data related to farmer training sessions, distribution of agricultural inputs, and installation of agricultural tools.

Support baseline, midline, and endline assessments to measure project outcomes and impact.

Prepare activity monitoring reports, field visit checklists, and data summaries for review.

Support data entry and database management to ensure proper documentation and timely reporting.

Participate in developing and updating monitoring tools (surveys, feedback forms, beneficiary lists, etc.).

Facilitate feedback and complaint mechanisms to ensure accountability and transparency with project beneficiaries.

Collaborate with field teams to ensure proper data flow and accurate reporting of project indicators.

Support lessons-learned sessions and ensure documentation of best practices and challenges.

Assist in preparing presentations, reports, and visual summaries for management and donors.

Perform other related duties as requested by the supervisor.

Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Engineering, Development Studies, Social Sciences, or a related field.

Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in monitoring, evaluation, or field data collection (preferably in NGO or development projects).

Knowledge of agricultural programs and farmer support projects is a strong advantage.

Strong analytical and reporting skills with attention to detail.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); knowledge of data collection tools (Kobo, ODK, or similar) is a plus.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with farmers and field staff.

Ability to travel frequently to rural project sites in Ana and surrounding areas.
