Description

Function prerequisite:

 

The EORE Team Leader will be responsible for everyday communication between the EORE Coordinator and the EORE Team and in addition facilitate the training and education and awareness of landmines, Explosive Remnants of War (ERW) and Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) resulting in reduced risk behavior within affected communities

 

 

Responsibilities:

 

Following EORE Standard Operating Procedures, National Mine Action Standards, and the EORE activity plan, the EORE Team Leader will deliver EORE in assigned communities and perform the following tasks:

 

  • Ensure the necessary tasks of the EORE team are carried out in the field.
  • Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly reports to the EORE Line Manager in accordance with established requirements.
  • Liaise with the NPA EORE line Manager on personnel matters for his/her team, e.g. sick leave, holidays, and similar entitlements.
  • Undertake necessary preparations for EORE sessions incl. Coordinating with community leaders, local authorities, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Ensure that the team has the necessary materials and other equipment to carry out the designated activities.
  • Carry out EORE activities in selected communities according to the operational plan.
  • Travel to additional bases as needed to deliver safety briefings and provide leadership to teams.  
  • Serve as interviewer during community assessments.
  • Serve as a data collector within designated communities.
  • Serve as a community liaison, facilitating communication and collaboration among stakeholders and participants.
  • Ensure effective and consistent communication with partner organizations.
  • Coordinate and share information effectively with other mine action actors, including those handling survey, marking, and clearance.
  • Any additional business matters as stipulated by NPA.

 

 

Other duties:

 

The EORE Team Leader is expected to engage in continuous training both prior to and throughout the operational phase.

 

  • Basic EORE course.
  • Course on specific methodologies and tools.
  • Any other relevant training as planned by NPA
Qualifications & Preferred Skills

Required Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in sociology, social sciences, teaching, or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in teaching, education, or social work.
  • Proficiency in Arabic with strong English skills.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Fluency in local dialects and understanding of relevant cultural contexts are considered advantageous.

 

Experience:

 

Required:

 

  • Minimum of three years' experience in the relevant field.

 

Preferred:

 

  • Experience working with international non-governmental organizations (NGOs).
  • Previous experience in mine action is considered an asset.
  • Demonstrated management experience.

 

Other qualifications:

 

  • Proficient in widely utilized computer software applications.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to comprehend complex information.
  • Demonstrated capability to perform efficiently under pressure and adapt to challenging environments.
