Main purpose of the job:

Prepare, provide, and present health education sessions to the population/patients according to MSF principles and values to promote health information through health measures and hygiene conditions as well as provide information about MSF activities to facilitate the access to healthcare

• Prepare material and deliver health education sessions, messages, and topics addressed to different populations regarding hygiene, diseases, and prevention.
• Ensure all the patients and caretakers are well informed, according to protocols, about health-related issues and services provided.
• Monitor health situation and living conditions of the population by conducting nutritional screening, collecting information related to food security, checking vaccination status of children, looking actively for any defaulters in programs that require this type of research, collecting information on the number of people arriving or leaving the community, births and deaths in the community, etc.
• Identify people with medical problems, contact with medical team, and report for immediate transfer if needed. He/she has to inform the line manager about any problem encountered (population, equipment, material…).
• Report to the line manager all results of screening and visits regularly

• ضمان إطلاع جميع المرضى ومقدمي الرعاية جيدًا، وفقًا للبروتوكولات، على القضايا الصحية والخدمات المقدمة.
• مراقبة الوضع الصحي وظروف معيشة السكان من خلال إجراء فحص غذائي، وجمع المعلومات المتعلقة بالأمن الغذائي، والتحقق من حالة تطعيم الأطفال، والبحث بنشاط عن أي متخلفين عن البرامج التي تتطلب هذا النوع من البحث، وجمع معلومات عن عدد الأشخاص الوافدين أو المغادرين للمجتمع، والمواليد والوفيات في المجتمع، إلخ
• . تحديد الأشخاص الذين يعانون من مشاكل صحية، والتواصل مع الفريق الطبي، والإبلاغ عن النقل الفوري عند الحاجة. يجب على الموظف/الموظفة إبلاغ المدير المباشر بأي مشكلة يواجهها (السكان، المعدات، المواد...).
• إبلاغ المدير المباشر بجميع نتائج الفحص والزيارات بانتظام.

The Community Health Educator will play a critical role in creating awareness about both Tuberculosis (TB) and cervical cancer, their prevention, treatment, screening, and control, within the integrated health care packages implemented by MSF in the selected health facilities in Sadr City of Baghdad, in close collaboration with the National TB Program (NTP) and Ministry of Health (MoH) National Cancer Control Program.

سيلعب مُثقِّف الصحة المجتمعية دورًا محوريًا في رفع مستوى الوعي بمرض السل وسرطان عنق الرحم، والوقاية منهما وعلاجهما وفحصهما ومكافحتهما، ضمن برامج الرعاية الصحية المتكاملة التي تُنفِّذها منظمة أطباء بلا حدود في المرافق الصحية المُختارة في مدينة الصدر ببغداد، بالتعاون الوثيق مع البرنامج الوطني لمكافحة السل والبرنامج الوطني لمكافحة السرطان التابع لوزارة الصحة.

The incumbent will be responsible for the implementation of health promotion activities aimed at raising awareness, promoting prevention, and supporting both TB control efforts and cervical cancer screening initiatives.

وسيكون مسؤولًا عن تنفيذ أنشطة تعزيز الصحة التي تهدف إلى رفع مستوى الوعي والوقاية ودعم جهود مكافحة السل ومبادرات فحص سرطان عنق الرحم.

Key Responsibilities:

• In collaboration with the HP supervisor, implement comprehensive health promotion strategies and activities for both TB prevention, control, and targeting the general population, and cervical cancer prevention and screening, specifically targeting women of reproductive age in the selected health facilities in Sadr and Mhmoodyah.
• Use culturally appropriate IEC materials and tools for health education campaigns related to TB prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and stigma reduction, as well as cervical cancer prevention, HPV awareness, screening methods (coloscopy, VIA), and stigma reduction around women's reproductive health.
• Facilitate community outreach and focus group discussions to encourage participation in both TB control initiatives and cervical cancer screening programs, addressing cultural and social barriers that may prevent access to these services.
• Educate patients, families, and communities about risk factors, prevention methods, treatment options, and the importance of regular screening and adherence to treatment protocols for both conditions.
• Work in close collaboration with pediatricians, gynecologists, and other stakeholders to promote integrated awareness, prevention, and control initiatives.
• Stay informed about developments in both TB treatment and prevention strategies, as well as cervical cancer screening and management approaches.

• بالتعاون مع مشرف الصحة العامة، تنفيذ استراتيجيات وأنشطة شاملة لتعزيز الصحة للوقاية من السل ومكافحته واستهداف عامة السكان، والوقاية من سرطان عنق الرحم وفحصه، مع التركيز بشكل خاص على النساء في سن الإنجاب في المرافق الصحية المختارة في صدر والمحمودية.
• استخدام مواد وأدوات الإعلام والتثقيف والاتصال المناسبة ثقافيًا لحملات التثقيف الصحي المتعلقة بالوقاية من السل وتشخيصه وعلاجه والحد من الوصمة المرتبطة به، بالإضافة إلى الوقاية من سرطان عنق الرحم، والتوعية بفيروس الورم الحليمي البشري، وطرق الفحص (تنظير القولون، وفحص VIA)، والحد من الوصمة المرتبطة بالصحة الإنجابية للمرأة.
• تسهيل التواصل المجتمعي ومناقشات مجموعات التركيز لتشجيع المشاركة في مبادرات مكافحة السل وبرامج فحص سرطان عنق الرحم، ومعالجة العوائق الثقافية والاجتماعية التي قد تحول دون الوصول إلى هذه الخدمات.
• تثقيف المرضى والأسر والمجتمعات حول عوامل الخطر، وطرق الوقاية، وخيارات العلاج، وأهمية الفحص الدوري والالتزام ببروتوكولات العلاج لكلتا الحالتين.
• التعاون الوثيق مع أطباء الأطفال وأمراض النساء وغيرهم من الجهات المعنية لتعزيز مبادرات التوعية والوقاية والسيطرة المتكاملة.
• البقاء على اطلاع دائم بالتطورات في استراتيجيات علاج السل والوقاية منه، بالإضافة إلى أساليب فحص سرطان عنق الرحم وإدارته.

       Integrated Program Responsibilities:

• Provide monthly reports to the HP supervisor covering activities from both the TB and cervical cancer programs
• Monthly data collection, analysis, and reporting on health promotion activities for both programs, ensuring accurate documentation of outcomes and lessons learned
• Coordinate and optimize resource utilization between both programs to maximize community reach and impact
• Identify opportunities for integrated health messaging.
• Maintain awareness of co-morbidities and interactions between TB and other health conditions, including women's health issues
• Adhere to MSF's principles and protocols, including medical ethics, confidentiality, and humanitarian principles, in all aspects of work across both programs
