Description
Terms of Reference The purpose and structures of the Research Position title: GBV reporting Duty station: Working from home Reporting to: Protection Project Manager in Erbil Submission date of the research: Jan ,2024 Timeline for the implementation: December ,2023 About the Research: Amal Organization will conduct GBV safety audit to identify available resources and services at the site, gaps in resources and services, particular risks faced by women, girls, men and boys, level of safety accessing resources and services, and the community’s priority of needs and recommendations. Objective: . Preparing and finalizing protection opinions and advice, complex and sensitive GBV issues in the areas of the project implementation and share the final result with working group to find solutions Scope of the work: The researcher position will work under the technical supervision of Protection Project Manager in Erbil. Deliverables: • Detailed work plan • Develop instruments for data collection in the field • Preliminary report • Final report Methodology •assessment questionnaire should be tailored to the literacy level of the community and their language. •Assessment should cover culture and gender analysis of area. Individual trainers/firms with training modules will be given preference. The curriculum is ready; the trainer will be expected to review the curriculum and customize it to the NES context. •Provide brief presentation of assessment to the field staff with daily worker •Provide final soft copy of the materials after the customization of assessment materials for Amal staff in Arabic version and English (would be preferable) for the review and approval  Determine areas of research to increase knowledge in a particular field.  Plan and perform experiments and surveys.  Collect, record, and analyze data. Interpret data analysis results and draw inferences and conclusions.  Present research results to the project manager  Use research results to write reports, papers and reviews and present findings with the donors, cluster  Enhance his/her understanding of the GBV concern and professional responsibilities  Document best practices and lessons learned EXPECTED DELIVERABLES /OUTPUTS  The final output will be an analytical and operative document/report for each target areas, based on qualitative and quantitative documentary review and gender-sensitive consultations of targeted communities, including vulnerable and marginalized groups in the pre-selected areas, with recommendations for the design of women-led community initiatives for GBV and focus of a potential future of the programme.  Inception report entitled upon finalizing desk review and secondary data analysis  final assessment reports indicating the title, objective, description, activities, timeline, requirements, expected result and general recommendations, which could further ensure sustainability  Clear and tangible suggestions for the meaningful inclusion of gender considerations in the target areas, including recommendations for mitigating measures for GBV/SEA.  Final report indicating the results of GBV
Qualifications & Preferred Skills
Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent • At least 5 years’ experience in planning and conducting evaluations within humanitarian sector. • Good MEAL background • Familiarity with Syrian context • Fluent in English and Arabic language is an asset • Proven research background • Good administration, computer and interpersonal skills
