In Iraq, IOM’s Peacebuilding and Stabilization Division (PSD) aims to address the drivers of conflict and displacement through a community-driven and led approach to promote resilience, social cohesion, and improved mental and emotional wellbeing in the targeted areas. Through five integrated pillars: Social cohesion, MHPSS and Protection, Livelihoods, Community Service and Quick Impact Projects, and CVE/PVE programming, IOM’s stabilization program supports IDPs and returnees to regain a sense of safety and security, increase self- and community efficacy, and develop tools to deal with the past and regain hope and agency in the future.
Under the overall supervision of the Head, Peacebuilding and Stabilization Division, the overall supervision of the Programme Coordinator (PSD), the administrative supervision of the Head of Sub Office (HoSO), and the direct supervision of the PSD Area coordinator in close coordination with the PI team, the successful incumbent will perform the following duties.
Core Functions / Responsibilities
- Coordinate with SC staff to ensure that all beneficiaries photographed have signed consent form releases and ensure that correct information for each photo is captured and recorded. This shall include but is not limited to persons’ names, location, type of activity, and date of the photograph draft stories, social media updates, and other content.
- Film b-roll and take photographs of the different stages of project implementation including portraits for human interest stories.
- Conduct and film interviews of community members to record activity impact, under the guidance of the Senior Medica Focal Point, Public Information Team, and the Director of Relation and Coordination.
- Arrange and properly label recordings and photos according to the activities and Projects.
- Perform any other tasks and duties that may reasonably be required.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field from an accredited academic university or institue.
Experience and Skills:
- At least 2 years of relevant professional experience.
- Excellent organization skills, ability to prioritize and meet deadlines as well as taking initiative with positive attitude.
- Excellent empathic communication skills.
- Good knowledge of photo editing programs, including but not limited to Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, and Premiere Pro.
- Ability to work in unstable, uncertain environments, independently and in a team.
- Firm understanding of and adherence to Do No Harm principles.
- Ability to communicate effectively with children and adults, local authorities and other partners, and express oneself clearly and concisely.
- Previous experience with NGOs is a distinct advantage.
Languages:
- Fluency in Arabic with working knowledge of English.
- Any other language is an advantage.
