OVERVIEW
The Jiyan Foundation for Human Rights is a non-governmental, non-profit organization committed to supporting survivors of human rights violations through a comprehensive and holistic approach. Since its founding, the Foundation has provided specialized services, including mental health and trauma care, medical assistance, legal support, and social reintegration programs. Operating across Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, the Foundation focuses on the promotion of justice, dignity, and the long-term well-being of individuals and communities affected by war, persecution, and violence. Our team works with dedication to fostering resilience and building a society where human rights are respected and protected.
The Jiyan Foundation for Human Rights is currently inviting qualified and motivated individuals to apply for the position of office administrator, based in Sulaymaniyah, KRG—Iraq.
Position: Office Administrator.
Status: Full-time.
Based: Sulaymaniyah, KRG—Iraq.
Reports to: CEO
Required Degree: Bachelor’s degree in administration or management.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
  1. Provide comprehensive administrative and logistical support to the CEO in day-to-day operations.
  2. Manage the CEO’s calendar, schedule appointments, and coordinate internal and external meetings.
  3. Arrange travel plans and accommodations, and prepare detailed itineraries for the CEO.
  4. Draft, edit, and proofread emails, reports, letters, and presentations on behalf of the CEO.
  5. Prepare agendas, take minutes, and follow up on action items from meetings attended by the CEO.
  6. Handle confidential and sensitive information with the utmost discretion and professionalism.
  7. Act as the main point of contact between the CEO and staff, partners, donors, and external stakeholders.
  8. Organize Board of Directors meetings, including scheduling, document preparation, and minute-taking.
  9. Maintain accurate and updated records for Board members, including contact lists and meeting documentation.
  10. Assist the CEO in tracking deadlines, priorities, and key organizational deliverables.
  11. Support the implementation of CEO-led and Board-supported projects and initiatives.
  12. Follow up with departments to ensure timely submission of reports and materials requested by the CEO or Board.
  13. Carry out general administrative duties and other tasks as assigned by the CEO, in alignment with the needs of the executive office.
Qualifications & Preferred Skills
REQUIREMENTS
  1. Fluency in Kurdish and English is required; proficiency in Arabic is highly desirable.
  2. A Bachelor’s degree in administration, management, or a related field.
  3. Strong computer literacy, with proven skills in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  4. Previous experience in administrative support is preferred.
  5. Demonstrated experience working with national and international organizations.
  6. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  7. Willingness and ability to travel, including for multi-day assignments.
  8. Strong ability to work collaboratively in an interdisciplinary team and coordinate effectively with staff, centers, and external partners.

  2. Paid holidays (24 days for full-time position) plus 15 statutory holidays. Additional paid holidays, especially on religious festivals, may be agreed upon.
