"Women Talking Peace Project: the project aims to equally involve women in the building of an effective peace order and functioning state, democratic and social structures in Iraq. It is funded by the German Corporation for International Cooperation (GIZ) for 18 months.
Within the framework of the implementation of “Women Talking Peace” project 4 training sessions for member organizations of Alliance 1325 will be conducted titled “Iraqi National Action Plan to Monitor Implementation of 1325: Monitoring and Reporting Skills.” The training aims at strengthening the capacities of Alliance 1325 member organizations on monitoring and reporting and support them with setting up a monitoring and reporting system within their respective organizations.
Scope of Assignment:
The assignment is for a total of 25 days (12 days (3 days *4 workshops) + 13 days in the aftermath of workshops (3 days in August - 3 days in September - 3.5 days in October - 3.5 days in November).
The Consultant will assist with:
- Design of a monitoring system for the INAP2 in consultation with the trainers and elbarlament project management
- Monthly follow-up with Alliance 1325 organizations/workshop participants on the application of the newly gained monitoring and reporting tools
- Attending all 4 training sessions in Erbil, Iraq, planned between (July 24th and 30th, - and August 28th and September 3rd).
- Setting-up communication channels (Whatsapp group and other individual communication channels with participants) to sustain communication and follow-up with participants in order to report on developments regarding Alliance 1325 member organizations’ monitoring and reporting activities concerning INAP2, remind participants of deadlines set within the new monitoring system
- Record lessons learned, areas for improvement, and tangible examples of success stories demonstrating the improvement of the INAP2 monitoring within Alliance1325 organizations
- Gathering reports from all Alliance 1325 member organizations that monitor the local INAP2 implementation
- Preparing and submitting well documented reports from the Alliance1325 organizations and a final report with main results to the Directorate of Women’s Affairs Office ● Evaluation for each workshop, conducting and reporting pre and post-training questions (interviews) for trainers and participants, to evaluate workshops outputs and outcomes.
The Consultant will be working closely with the responsible Project Officer from elbarlament e.V.
elbarlament e.V. will be responsible for travel and accommodation expenses, so the consultant can attend all the 4 training sessions.
Required skills and experience:
- Iraqi national
- Minimum 3 years of work experience in monitoring and evaluation, preferably with specific focus on UNSCR 1325 and INAP 1&2 and/or women and gender. - In-depth knowledge of the principles and concepts of M&E, including sound understanding of theory of change and participatory monitoring, data collection and reporting
- Good empirical knowledge of baselines and impact assessments will be highly valued. - Manages own time, information and resources effectively.
- Fluency in Arabic language (spoken and written) - Kurdish language is a plus
