Geneva Call is recruiting an Accountant Intern – Part time
Geneva Call is a neutral, impartial and independent international humanitarian organization, endeavours to strengthen the respect of international humanitarian norms and principles by armed actors, in order to improve the protection of civilians. Appel de Genève/Geneva Call is a private, not-for-profit, humanitarian organization foundation under Swiss law, founded in 2000.
Geneva Call is implementing a programme to improve the protection of civilians in Iraq through engagement with armed actors and raising the awareness of Iraqi civil society on international humanitarian norms.
Key Responsibilities
The Finance Intern will be based in Erbil and responsible for,
- Booking monthly expenses, Supporting in financial documentation and follow ups.
The Finance Intern reports to Finance officer of Geneva Call in Iraq.
Main Tasks and responsibilities.
- Booking monthly expenses on the financial system and Enter transactions items according to the chart of accounts.
- Follow up on cash requests and cash advances for operational staff in the field.
- Supporting field staff for closing their monthly financial reports, SoTs & Cash boxes of field offices.
- Following up on monthly budgets of field offices and focal points within established deadlines.
- Collecting purchase requests and Purchase order forms and ensure its archiving.
- Ensure the archiving of all approved and registered financial documents.
Other tasks:
Any other task as requested by Finance department or Finance officer.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Bachelor’s in accounting.
Experience:
- Fresh graduate or couple years of work experience in Accounting or Finance with humanitarian or international organizations.
Technical skills:
- Accounting skills
- Operating relevant IT Tools for Accounting
- Strong communication and people management skills
- Report writing skills
Languages:
- Very good written and oral skills in English, Kurdish and Arabic.
