MAIN OBJECTIVE
Ensure the professional follow up on the rehabilitation of the irrigation systems in the farms, the quality control of the production, and the rehabilitation of community garden.
MAIN RESPONSABILITIES
- Ensure the professional follow up on the rehabilitation of the agriculture farms, the quality control of the production, and the rehabilitation of community garden.
- Support the Local partner and the management in the selection phase of the beneficiaries based on the arranged criteria.
- Support the logistics department in the procurement process regarding the crops and materials needed for the rehabilitation of the farms and the community gardens.
- upport the implementation of technical training to improve farmers and the association of farmers management skills.
- Provide continuous technical assistance to farmers/producers to improve production (both, qualitative and quantitative), post-harvesting and handling of fruits and vegetables.
- Ensure the introduction of new technics to ensure the augmentation of the production.
- Support activities to improve the business skills of the producers as per project design.
- Promote capacity building and technical skills to authorities (Chamber of Commerce and Ministry of Agriculture).
- Facilitate organization and follow up of exchange visits involving the local stakeholders (Chamber of Commerce, Ministry of Agriculture, producer cooperatives…).
- Perform any other relevant duties as required.
REPORTING TO : Project Coordinator
STUDIES REQUIREMENTS
Masters or Bachelor degree in Agriculture Engineering or equivalent degree/experience.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- 2 to 3 years of experience in similar tasks, working with NGOs in the livelihoods, farms rehabilitation, gardens rehabilitation, agriculture or food security sectors.
- Previous experience in developing tenders and following procurement procedures.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- Excellent organizational, coordination and time-management skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Previous experience in the area is preferred
- Valid driving license.
