iMMAP is an international not-for-profit non-governmental organization (NGO) that provides targeted information management support to partners responding to complex humanitarian and development challenges.
iMMAP in Iraq has three offices located in Erbil (main office), Baghdad and Basra providing information management support to Humanitarian actors.
Since 2003, iMMAP has worked to establish a common operating picture (COP) for Humanitarian Mine Action (HMA) in Iraq. We work with the Iraqi government and its partners to build the capacity to manage landmine and explosive remnants of war (ERW) mitigation activities. We help partners to identify and prioritize which areas are in greatest need of assistance and improve coordination efforts by tracking who is doing what and where.
Additionally, iMMAP recognizes that humanitarian aid workers in Iraq operate in an unstable and unpredictable environment and lack access to real-time event data. To help fill this gap, iMMAP has developed an incident tracking and reporting tool to enhance operational performance, inform decision making and improve personnel safety.
