Action Against Hunger is looking for Security and Liaison Officer in Basra.
Work place: Based in Basra city with frequent travels to ACF areas of intervention.
Type of contract: 2.5 Months Fixed-Term contract with possibility of extension.
Working Hours: Full Time Contract of minimum 40 hours per week up to a maximum of 48 hours per week
Monthly Gross Salary: 2,296,690 IQD
Benefits: Monthly Transport Allowance (130,000 IQD) + Medical Insurance + End of Year Benefit (30% of basic salary per year) + 24 days per year of annual leaves.
Purpose of the position:
Under the overall supervision of Field Coordinator, the security and liaison officer will be primarily responsible for smooth operations in terms of security and acceptance by the local community and relevant stakeholders.
Specific Objectives:

Support Field Coordinator ensuring effective coordination and communication with local communities and other stakeholders - support in liaison activities to gain access and acceptance in project locations both for existing and new.

Support the Field Coordinator through data collection, context analysis and with representation with local authorities.

Facilitate and monitor administrative process with local authorities in relation with HR department.

Facilitate and Advise on Security management of the base and activities in the areas of intervention
Qualification/Degree: |
BACHELOR’S DEGREE preferably or equivalent Level University Qualification in Risk Management and/or International Studies and/or Political Sciences and/or Journalism, Research or equivalent and relevant professional experience |
Professional Experience |
Experience in context and data analysis, reports writing, as well a good insight/understanding of security bodies and issues.Experience on a similar position and/or with an international NGO is preferredExperience in government liaison is desirable |
Required Specific & Technical Skills |
Very Good knowledge of Local Political and Security Context, Authorities and General Official Administration procedures and processes.Very good knowledge of qualitative and quantitative research and analysis on a political and security level in a humanitarian context.Good theoretical and practical understanding of radio & satellite-phone communication technology and geographic information systems (GIS) is highly appreciated.Very Good Translation Skills (English, Arabic)Very Good Written Reporting skills |
