We work with people affected by violent conflicts to enhance their security and dignity through unarmed civilian protection (UCP). We work to reduce violence and protect civilians in countries affected by violent conflict and its aftermath and to help transform the world’s response to conflict situations.

 

 

JOB PURPOSE

 

KEY OBJECTIVES/RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Assist in the process of rolling out monitoring and evaluation tools to the field and provide field teams with technical support in implementation. This includes supporting and facilitating training workshops for field staff on monitoring, evaluation, and reporting
  • Monitor project outputs track progress towards indicators and capture case studies and stories from the field
  • Support the management of outsourced research activities including monitoring contract deliverables and timeframes, and overseeing data quality control systems
  • Prepare scope of work with Human Resources for the recruitment of data collectors, enumerators, and study implementers
  • Supervise and train part-time data collectors and enumerators to ensure high-quality data capture
  • Provide reliable and effective data collection, administration, information management and filing support to the Programme Development Department
  • Manage information requests from external partners including the Protection Cluster and sub-clusters
  • Conduct regular field visits to monitor program implementation as well as assist teams with monitoring, evaluation, reporting and information management
  • Write and edit internal narrative reports
  • Support donor liaison and answer any queries where necessary
  • Undertake other tasks reasonably expected of her/him by MEL Advisor and Programme Development Department
Qualifications & Preferred Skills

QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES

 

  • University degree in Project management, Statistics, Demography, Sociology, Business Administration or related discipline, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 2 years’ work experience in monitoring, evaluation, program development, grant management and/or project support functions with non-governmental organizations
  • Experience in data entry, spreadsheets, database management and analysis
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively process and consolidate information and documentation from multiple locations
  • Experience in setting up and managing administration, filing and project management systems
  • Understanding of grants management – ability to provide the necessary support to Programme Development department
  • Skill in working under pressure of deadlines, establishing, and maintaining cooperative working relationships.
  • Experience in research methods an asset
  • Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment
  • Understanding and commitment to Nonviolent Peaceforce mission and objectives essential
