Description

Background:

Harikar NGO is a neutral, non-governmental, non-profit humanitarian organization established on 30th May 2004 by a group of social activists. Harikar NGO as stated in its mission statement strives toward the fulfilment of human and women rights in Dohuk Governorate as stipulated in the new Iraqi constitution of 15th October 2005. Harikar is committed to- within its resources- contribute towards the achievement of the internationally agreed Millennium Development Goals. Harikar believes in human rights, the right of every person to reach his/her potential without discrimination on the basis of race, gender, religion, social segment and ethnicity. Harikar strives to achieve social justice especially among the marginalized vulnerable groups and works towards eliminating all forms of discrimination against women by promoting their capacity to fully participate in community development. Harikar has been able to successfully carry out more than 80 projects, through receiving funds from various UN and International agencies including UNFPA, RRT/PRT, UNHCR, UNCEF, UNNESCO, Diakonia, UNDP, UNOPS, CARE, ASB, Health Net, Acted, Heartland, IRD, Mercy Corps, IRC, IRI, NDI, and SCF-UK, Mission east, ICSP and others.

 

 

Duties and responsibilities

The Project Human Resource Assistant will be assisting HR Officer on daily staff requirements in terms of human resources requirements. Their work, which is often decidedly administrative in nature, involves documenting staff attendances, terminations, absences, performance reports, and compensation and benefits information. Beyond administrative duties, however, HR assistants are also often involved in recruiting, hiring, and training new employees. Typical tasks, therefore, include posting job openings, gathering information on new applicants, contacting references, and informing employees of their hiring status. HR Assistant is also often responsible for handling everything from scheduling the office holiday party to handling travel arrangements for company executives. The Project HR Assistant carries out his/her functions under the direct supervision of the HR Officer. Specifically, the incumbent will do daily tasks in:

 

 

 

  1. GENERAL DAILY TASKS:-

 

  • Assisting HR Officer to preparing Payroll, Income Tax and Social Insurance Reports
  • Assisting HR Officer to preparing Contract for new employee
  • Answering employee questions,
  • Processing incoming mail,
  • Creating and distributing documents,
  • Serving as a point of contact with staff of HARIKAR
  • Maintaining computer system by updating and entering data
  • Setting appointments and arranging meetings
  • Maintaining calendars of HR management team
  • Compiling reports and spreadsheets and preparing spreadsheets
  • Perform other duties as determined by the direct supervisor.

 

  1. RECRUITMENT PROCESS:-

 

  • Participating in recruitment efforts
  • Posting job ads and organizing resumes and job applications
  • Scheduling job interviews and assisting in interview process
  • Ensuring background and reference checks are completed
  • Preparing new employee files
  • Overseeing the completion of compensation and benefit documentation
  • Orienting new employees to the organization (setting up a designated log-in, workstation, email address, etc.)
  • Serving as a point person for all new employee questions

 

  1. RECORD MAINTENACE:-

 

  • Maintaining current HR files and databases
  • Updating and maintaining employee entitlements, employment status, and similar records
  • Maintaining records related to performance reviews, and disciplinary actions
  • Maintaining records related to Payroll, Income Tax and Social Insurance
  • Performing file audits to ensure that all required employee documentation is collected and maintained
Qualifications & Preferred Skills

Technical / Professional:

  • Minimum of 2 years work experience in Human Resource. Previous work with NGO and UN is preferable.
  • University degree in Administration and other relevant field .
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Excellent computer literacy with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel and Outlook, Power Point.
  • Excellent knowledge of English Arabic, Kurdish language.
