CHILD SAFEGUARDING: 

Level 3:  the post holder will have contact with children and/or young people either frequently (e.g. once a week or more) or intensively (e.g. four days in one month or more or overnight) because they work country programs; or are visiting country programs; or because they are responsible for implementing the police checking/vetting process staff.

ROLE PURPOSE: 

FSL Business Trainer is a primary level field based position under the direct supervision of livelihood coordinator CO. S/He will be responsible for day to day implementation, reporting and documentation of microenterprise development training activities along with national partner team and and with technical support from FSL specialist. The position holder will work closely with MEAL, WASH, Child Protection, Education, Finance and supply chain team in Sinjar.

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:


•    Preparation of detail implementation plan for microenterprise development training, delivery of business grants and mentorship services to potential micro enterprise development beneficiaries in Sinjar.  Coordination with WASH Coordinator in Sinjar and national partner’s livelihoods team for implementation planning and execution. 
•    Organize and deliver microenterprise development training to identified groups of beneficiaries in Sinjar based on direction and curriculum developed/ adopted by Save the Children.
•    Ensure smooth delivering of knowledge to the participants regarding business management & market relation, customer care , expenses vs incomes, etc.
•    Facilitate microenterprise development training participants for preparation of business plan.
•    Coordinate MEAL team for preparation of pre and post training assessment tool. 
•    Monitor progress against program work plan; promptly identifying any current or potential  delays. Weekly reporting on progress 
•    Organize and participate in micro business start up grants delivery.
•    Regular field visits following delivery of business start up grants to ensure grant is used for intended purposes. 
•    Individual meeting with business grant beneficiaries to provide coaching and mentorship services following start of business. 
•    Establish and maintain contact and productive working relationships with community representatives, local and international organizations, beneficiaries and local business community as related to micro enterprise development. 
•    Coordinate with MEAL team for parallel monitoring of activities, pre and post training evaluation as well as evaluation of businesses established with support from project. 
•    Keep record of all required documents related to small business support program including beneficiary selection, microenterprise development training, business start up grants, coaching/ mentorship services and final evaluation. 
•    Work collaboratively with SCI’s logistics and finance staff as required to process Purchase Requests (PR) for microenterprise development component.

•    Any other duties assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications & Preferred Skills

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE AND ATTRIBUTES

Essential
•    Bachlors degree in economics, management sciences or livelihoods related fields. 
•    At least one years proven experience of youth livelihoods program implementation and six months as business trainer.
•    Strong understanding of preparing training sessions/agendas/ timelines and managing assessment.
•    Fluency in Arabic, Kurdish and local languages; Written and Spoken Enghlish a plus. 
•    Experience and understanding of gender sensitive programing. 
•    Good understanding of community engagement and social cohesion.
•    Good understanding of humanitarian principles and don no harm. 
•    Understanding and commitment to Save the Children aims, values, and principles


Desirable
•    Participated in ToT organized by ILO on SIYB curriculum. 
•    Local from Sinjar
•    Works well in and promotes teamwork, strong community outreach skills, detail oriented, honest, flexible and able to handle pressure well.
•    Strong sense of integrity 
•    Female candidate with required skills is highly preferred.
