JOB PURPOSE:
The driver is a member of the Operations Team responsible for providing transport and logistics assistance to the mission under the direction from the Operations Manager and fleet officer. This includes transporting team members to meetings and other activities. It also involves providing assistance with the procurement and delivery of goods for the team of NP as well as any other activities relevant to the role.
KEY OBJECTIVES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Transport
- Follow NP safety and security guidelines for drivers
- Keep passengers and pedestrians safe
- Treat vehicle properly and avoid damage caused by reckless driving
- Keep vehicle in good condition, cleaning them weekly
- Maintain fuel levels in the vehicle in line with SOPs
- Perform daily service and weekly vehicle inspections and report any problems immediately
Procurement and logistics
- Assist Logistics Officer and Caretaking staff with procuring supplies and undertaking collection/delivery as directed
- Assist in general maintenance activities around the office
QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES:
Education, Knowledge and Experience
- Strong commitment to safety and security
- Commitment to Nonviolent Peaceforce’s nonpartisan approach to working in Iraq
- Experience as a driver, knowledge of basic vehicle maintenance
