Ashor Iraqi Foundation for Relief and Development, established in 2015, is a nongovernmental and nonprofit organization. Its inception was driven by a group of young volunteers responding to the urgent societal needs of Iraq, which were exacerbated by prolonged exposure to wars and conflicts. These events led to widespread displacement and mass migration. The foundation's initial focus was on understanding the root causes of these
conflicts, the role of youth in fostering change, and identifying effective approaches to achieve communal resilience.
During the conflict with ISIS in Iraq and Syria, Ashor Foundation concentrated on addressing the humanitarian and basic needs of displaced communities. Following the conflict, their efforts shifted to supporting the return of families , aiming to restore their economic and social lives.
