This training aims to strengthen the capacity of our local NGO partners in core communications areas. This initiative directly responds to a needs assessment conducted with the partners, which identified key gaps in communications, visibility, and stakeholder engagement. The goal is to equip them with practical skills and strategies to amplify their voice and support their long-term sustainability.

The curriculum must be tailored to the general needs of local civil society organisations and should cover the following core areas:

  • Strategic Communications Planning: Developing clear and compelling key messages, identifying target audiences, and creating simple, actionable communications plans.
  • Content Development & Storytelling for Impact: Crafting powerful narratives and success stories that demonstrate project impact and writing engaging content for various platforms (press releases, social media, reports).
  • Digital Outreach & Social Media Management: Best practices for managing professional social media channels and using tools like Canva to create engaging visual content.
  • Public and Media Relations: Basics of engaging with local media and delivering effective presentations to different stakeholders.

4. Key Deliverables

  • A detailed training agenda and methodology submitted for SPARK's approval prior to the training.
  • All training materials (presentations, handouts, exercises) provided in digital and hard copy formats.
  • Delivery of a 3-day interactive training in Sulaymaniyah.
