Dear Prospective Applicants, 

PartnersGlobal is seeking applications from qualified Iraqi Non-Governmental Organizations to join a coalition under the “You are the Change” project. The coalition will work to promote workers' rights, foster decent work principles, and address child labor and women’s rights in the labor force in Iraq. PartnersGlobal– Iraq branch is a locally led non-profit organization that aims to build sustainable peace by promoting resiliency, tolerance, and diversity at the grassroots and national levels. PartnersGlobal– Iraq branch has used collaborative leadership, consensus building, and cooperative advocacy to assist vulnerable populations in forging positive relationships toward a more sustainable future.

 You are the Change Project

PartnersGlobal, together with its local office, PartnersIraq, are implementing the أنت التغيير (You Are the Change) project (2024-2026) to support the enforcement of Iraqi labor law to protect workers rights, uphold decent work principles, and combat child labor. You are the Change aims to build trust, strengthen capacity, and raise awareness to catalyze action driven by local priorities to better enforce worker’s rights and combat child labor in five governorates in Iraq. The Partners team will set up the first Iraqi coalition to promote the rights of workers and combat child labor, consisting of 20 CSO representatives in Baghdad, Wasit, El Muthanna, Karbala, and Maysan. The coalition will increase the coordination with the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs (MoLSA) to protect and advocate for Iraqi workers, children, and victims of labor rights violations. The coalition will hold one co-creation workshop with MoLSA and design one joint action plan to protect workers’ rights and combat child labor. Prior to this workshop, the CSO representatives will receive a 3-day advocacy training course to prepare them for the workshop.

 Coalition Purpose

• Goal: Promote enforcement of Iraqi labor law, support decent work, and combat child labor through collaborative advocacy with MoLSA and key partners.
• Focus: Labor rights in El Muthanna, Karbala, Maysan, Wasit, and Baghdad.

Coalition Member Responsibilities:

Selected CSOs will:

• Policy Paper: Attend in-person and virtual meetings to create a policy paper with advocacy strategies.
• Training: Join a 3-day advocacy training.
• Action Plans: Collaborate in 2-day meetings with MoLSA to draft action plans for each governorate.

 Eligibility

Organizations applying must:

• Experience in labor rights or child labor issues.
• Active in one or more target governorates.
• Relationships with MoLSA, labor unions, or similar stakeholders.
• Advocacy for vulnerable workers or children.

 Application Requirements and Submission Instructions

Applicants are expected to review, understand, and comply with all aspects of this RFA. Complete applications will include the following: 

• Organizational Statement: Background, experience, fit for coalition.
• Registration certificate
• Past Projects: Up to two relevant recent projects (with details).
• CVs: Two senior staff CVs (max 3 pages each).
• References: Two references’ contacts.

Selection Process

Final selection will ensure diverse representation across target regions and sectors. Successful applicants will be notified within three weeks of the submission deadline.
